Walton Nature Park
This information is given to make our membership (and future membership) aware
that on the 5th October 2013 the clubs lake and canal within Walton Nature Park suffered a major pollution incident. The club is continuing to work with the site owners Wakefield MDC as well as the Environment Agency who have been closely involved since the incident took place.
It is hoped that once an agreement can be reached with all parties involved, the lake and canal will be re-stocked to levels comparable with those prior to the incident taking place.
Reccomendations were made that a stocking program could be made since the Major Pollution Incident so The club following advice given began Restocking at Walton Nature Park. The club will continue to monitor the health of the Fish
1st stocking 28 Nov 2018 Tench & crucians
2nd Stocking on 26 Jan 2019 bream 1-2½ pound approx 140lb

A hugely prolific water containing Roach, Chub, Bream, Perch and Pike. This water is well known locally for producing large volumes of silver fish on any day of the year.
The stretch of canal has easy access by car and allows for parking on the grassed verges next to all pegs. Please be mindful that no fishing is allowed under or near overhead power lines. Day
Please speak to one of the Bailiffs you will see during the day and also ensure to pick their brains on the best methods to use to ensure you catch more than you thought you would.
